Mardi Gras Beignets: A Review

As you may know, I am a big fan of the Mint Julep Bar in Disneyland. Recently, they've been experimenting with some more unique variations of the classic treat. This version is themed after the holiday Mardi Gras.

On the Disney Food Blog website, it says that "The Mardi Gras beignets are not sprinkled with powdered sugar, but with lemon-flavored sugar and blueberry-flavor sugar." The idea of lemon sugar was a major turn-off for me (due to my experience with the golden churro), but I still knew I was going to try these for the blog.

I was pleasantly surprised, though. These beignets tasted nothing like blueberry or lemon. In my opinion, they had more of a floral taste to them. Plus, they still had some of that beignet taste that we all know and love. I also tasted a flavor that spoke to me as raspberry or blackberry. Overall, these were a score.

Rating: 10/10, would enjoy again.
