BoxLunch has over 50 stores in the USA, as well as an online presence.  It was created in 2015 by parent company, Hot Topic.  Although it is very different than Hot Topic in that it seems like it is curated by Pop Culture nerds who want to take it to the next level.  Their brick and mortar stores are brightly lit and thankfully do not have the mind-numbing music that HT is known for. They carry licensed and unlicensed merchandise from Disney, Star Wars, Marvel, Sanrio, Game of Thrones, Harry Potter and on and on.   They carry unusual items like Death Star toasters and Jack Skellington Cookie Jars.  Their collection of apparel, accessories (OMG! Their Purses!), Funko Pops, drinkware and home goods is exceptional.

They are a charitable organization, which we find very appealing.  With each $10 purchase, BoxLunch provides a meal secured by Feeding America® on behalf of local member food banks.  They also reward their frequent costumers in a similar way that Hot Topic does with BoxLunch "Money" (basically an incentive to come back and spend more cash!)  If you do not happen to live near one of their stores, you can shop online and take advantage of their various promotions.

Retro Star Wars Vacuform Masks by Ben Cooper

The last time I popped into BoxLunch, I was covered in a warm blanket of nostalgia when I came upon these glorious, retro-inspired vacuform Halloween masks.  It sent me back to the 70's when we wore flammable plastic, head to toe and bounced around the neighborhood, knocking on random doors, begging for candy.  I can still feel the beads of sweat under the thick mask, forming a suction cup as it adhered to my skin.  We couldn't see anything but we did not care!

If I hadn't just done a major purge to my garage, I would have scooped up one of each of these.  And they also had Marvel masks!  You have no idea how much will power it took for me not to get them.

Speaking of Star Wars and my garage, I happen to be the proud owner of a set of SW tiki mugs from Geeki Tikis by Venom that I adore.  I had no idea that they have SO many other fabulous collections!!!!  My husband has been rolling his eyes at me ever since I bought the SW set because we have yet to use them.  But he may change his tune when he finds out that they also have Marvel mugs!  Well done, Venom.  Well done!

BoxLunch is definitely worth checking out if you haven't seen them already.  It is worth mentioning that they also have a nice Children's apparel section.  It is often hard to find geek chic in smaller sizes. We all want our little ones to look as cool as we do rocking our favorite Rocket Racoon shirt.  Am I right?

In all seriousness, we LOVE this store and hope you will as well.
